Safety

  • When essential oils are distilled from a plant, the oil becomes concentrated 100-fold or more, so certain properties become very pronounced in the oils. For example, it can take a 100 kg of a plant to make 1 kg of essential oil from this plant.
  • The natural origin of essential oils does not guarantee their safety.
  • Because pure essential oils are so powerful, it is extremely important to follow dilution rates, instructions, and safety precautions.

Consult Your Doctor Before Using Essential Oil Products If You Have Any Known Health Risks.

  •
  • Do not use essential oils or absolutes undiluted; do not apply directly on the skin.
  • Do not take internally. If accidental ingestion occurs, please consult your local emergency services or hospital.
  • Keep all oils away from the eyes.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Conduct a patch test with essential oils or absolutes diluted in base on the inner arm for sensitivities. Wait 24 hours before wider application.
  • Beware of photosensitizing effects of some citrus oils; do not apply to sun-exposed skin or just before going out in the sun.
  • In case of irritation, flush with olive oil.
  • The use of essential oils for health benefits should not replace seeing a doctor or seeking medical attention.

Potential Toxicity

  • Toxicity is a term used to describe the potential of a material to produce harmful effects when introduced into the body through ingestion, inhalation, or absorption through the skin.
  • The more toxic the material, the less is needed to produce a negative reaction.
  • Essential oils have a long history of safe use when dilution rates, instructions, and warnings are followed.

Quality

  • Our labs conduct extensive testing on the quality of the materials we produce and use in our products.
  • The safety of essential oils and absolutes are related to the chemical components of each material.
  • This makes it critical for high-quality products to be used in aromatherapy.
  • It is the responsibility of, both, the manufacturer and the customer to use aromatherapy products responsibly and follow dilution guidelines and product instructions.
  • When dealing with natural products, more is not necessarily better.

Since natural essential oils and absolutes are so powerful and concentrated, they should never be applied directly to the skin in their undiluted form.
Store in a cool place. No direct inhalation. Do not use directly on skin. Keep out of reach of children.

Storage Guidelines

  • Essential oils and absolutes should remain in their amber glass bottles since ultraviolet light can degrade the aroma.
  • Make sure the cap is on tight to prevent oxidation.
  • Keep oils at low temperatures, 10° C (50° F) or below. Keep oils in the refrigerator for long term storage. Warm and shake gently before use.

Shelf Life

Products are best used within two years except for citrus oils (like bitter orange and mandarin), which should be used within one year.
